Niishzhoowe means "two voices" in Anishnaabemowin. They are a married duet who share songs of pride, healing and resurgence of Indigenous identity.
The duet is made up of Gabrielle Fayant (Fishing Lake Métis Settlement, AB) and Josh Lewis (Wikwemikoong Unceded Territory/ N’swakamok, ON). They will be performing a special set of songs to complement this year’s festival theme.
DJ MKWA (Caleb Guérin) is an Anishinaabe DJ and music producer from Abitibiwinni who fuses modern genres, such as house, techno, and hip-hop, with traditional Indigenous elements.
Chris Rockwell is a member of the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi, Chris Rockwell draws inspiration from diverse influences and has been a part of the nightlife scene since the early aughts. Chris uses vinyl and digital formats, mixing classic sounds with modern electronic productions. Formerly a resident DJ in Ottawa (2004-2011) and Vancouver (2011-2015), he currently lives in Ottawa.

Rachel Weldon (she/her) is a queer white settler living on Algonquin Anishinaabe territory in so-called Hull. She is founder and executive director of music presenter organization Debaser, and a programmer and administrator for artist-run centre SAW. Rachel has 10 years experience working in music curation, arts admin, community media and event production, and has produced and/or programmed over 300 events and programs. As DJ Pink Veil, she DJs an eclectic range of styles and genres primarily on vinyl.
