ASINABKA  FESTIVAL
Asinabka Festival has partnered with Indigenous Culture & Media Innovation (ICMI), and SAW Video Media Art Centre, to offer Video Works, a weeklong residency in pre- and post- video production. This residency is designed for beginners wanting to learn the steps involved in making a video and that have little or no experience with the intricacies of filmmaking. Aided by experienced instructors, participants will work in small groups to produce short videos that will be screened on the final night of the Asinabka Festival. The residency will take place at SAW Video during the week of the festival, from Monday July 22nd to Saturday July 27th, from 10AM to 6PM each day.

HOW TO APPLY


Please submit the following:
A resume, CV, or short bio of the applicant 
A brief statement (no longer than 1 page) explaining your experience with film 
and video, why you want to take this residency, and what you hope to learn.

Optional: A sample of your video work (on DVD or an internet link)

There is no cost for this residency. The residency is open to anyone over the age of 18 (16 with parental consent). This program is open to all First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Peoples who will be in the Ottawa or Gatineau area for the duration of the residency.
